Scope of Works

The scope of works comprised of the decommissioning and the replacement of the existing 415V consac cables and service pillars located in the identified street areas with new LV cables and LV pillars whilst maintaining the electrical services to the houses during this works.

  • Minimal power disruption to the consumers during the works and the supply was maintained wherever possible.
  • All underground services (water and telecoms) were identified and located wherever possible to minimise accidental damage during excavations.
  • Asbestos slabbing lay over the existing 415V cables.  Contraflow implemented a divisional plan to reduce the risks associated with handling and working with asbestos products and to recommend consultative control measures and alternatives for dealing with the hazards.

The majority of the work was performed within a residential area. The contract price was inclusive of all the known costs which resulted with provision systems and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient worksite. Contraflow has immense commitment to the safety of our staff, contractors and the communities in which we work.
